Vakt skjuten till döds på USHMM i Washington DC

Säkerhetsvakten Stephen Tyrone Johns på United States Holocaust Memorial Museum sköts i går till döds av en äldre man vars identitet ännu inte till 100% är fastställd. Attacken kom enligt min källa helt utan förvarning, inte heller FBI hade mottagit information om en förestående attack mot USHMM. Min vän på USHMM som jag talade med igår berättade att många ur personalen var i chock och att stämmningen var förfärlig.

Idag, den 11 juni, hålls USHMM stängt för att hedra minnet av Johns som sörjs av sina kollegor och sin familj. Vill ni läsare lämna era kondoleanser till Johns familj kan ni kommentera detta inlägg så vidarebefordrar jag dessa till Johns familj via USHMM.

The Museum mourns the tragic passing of Officer Stephen Tyrone Johns, who died heroically in the line of duty on June 10 protecting our visitors and staff. There are no words to express our grief and shock over the loss of a cherished friend and exemplary colleague, who served as a Special Police Officer at the Museum for six years. He was a dedicated professional whose outgoing personality and warm smile will be deeply missed by his Museum family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, his children, and his entire family.

The Museum has established a special fund for the benefit of Officer Johns’ family. Make a contribution to the USHMM Officer Johns Family Fund.
